In 1996, Kimberly Hay joined Life-Long Leadership, Inc. and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity she is responsible for strategic planning, setting operational direction, and assisting in business plan, marketing, and sales strategy development. She is also a consulting partner offering facilitation, coaching, and consulting services.
In addition to her L3 responsibilities, Kimberly simultaneously held many senior leadership positions in the distribution and retail industries. In her most recent role as Director of Operations for HD Supply / White Cap Construction Supply, Kimberly managed several key functions including National Operations, Loss Prevention, Indirect Supplier Sourcing, Internet/Catalog Fulfillment & Call Center Operations, Process Improvement and the Voice of the Customer Program. Kimberly was promoted to this position from National Operations Manager, where she managed three of the top four key corporate projects created to drive out cost and deliver a better customer experience across the enterprise.
Prior to joining White Cap in 2006, Kimberly served in various roles of increasing responsibility with The Home Depot at their Atlanta-based corporate headquarters. Kimberly's 15-year tenure with the company spanned several functional areas including Information Technology, Finance and Operations.
From 2002 to 2006, Kimberly led the Front End operations team, whose focus on delivering best-in-class systems, tools, procedures and training impacted nearly 60,000 cashiers handling 1.2 billion point-of-sale transactions per year. Promoted from Senior Manager to Director of Store Operations/Front End Operations in 2005, Kimberly was responsible for retail checkout, customer service, phone center, and back office processes and productivity for over 1900 home improvement retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
In 2003, Kimberly led the Operations Design and Implementation team in transforming the point-of-sale experience for The Home Depot's customers and associates, deploying new POS and vault/bookkeeping applications to more than 40,000 registers in 1700 stores. This new point-of-sale platform supported Cordless Two-Way Scan Guns, Online Cashier Books, Receipt Look-up and Automated Check Processing. Kimberly's team also assisted in the design of e-Learning applications used to train and on-board all cashiers in the US and Canada.
Prior to her work in the Front End Store Operations department, Kimberly spent more than a decade in The Home Depot's Finance department. Her tenure there found her responsible for numerous disciplines including Customs Compliance, Import Accounting, Distribution Center Accounting, Accounts Payable, Freight Accounting, Document Processing, Imaging Operations and Supplier Support.
Kimberly began her career at The Home Depot in an Information Technology liaison role supporting the Finance business. She was a key contributor to the initial design, development, testing, implementation, and daily monitoring of Home Depot's Electronic Data Interchange system. She then served in a Systems Analysis role, assisting the organization in building the right systems for the future.
Kimberly holds an MBA in Employment Relations from Georgia State University and a BBA in Management Information Technology from the University of Georgia. She is also a certified Six Sigma Orange Belt.
An Atlanta-native, Kimberly currently resides in the city with her husband and two boys.
