In 2008, Steven Brandt joined Life-Long Leadership as a consulting partner responsible for leadership and team development. He helps organizations build healthy, well functioning teams, understand team dynamics, and capitalize on each individual’s unique strengths. Steven also helps facilitate training about “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” for effectively working in today’s corporate environment.
Steven directed The Home Depot’s Tampa, Florida Customer Contact Center from 2005 to 2008. At the contact center, Steven managed approximately 1,200 associates in providing customer support to The Home Depot’s customers and store associates in over 2,000 locations nationwide. During his tenure, Steven successfully implemented “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” effectively using the highly contemporary management tools offered through Life-Long Leadership and The Packer Group.
From 2003 through 2004, Steven worked with IBM Business Consulting Services as a Senior Consultant in the Customer Contact Center Optimization organization. There he focused on providing extensive subject matter expertise on all facets of contact center management, including leadership development, strategic planning, and improved organizational and operational effectiveness.
Steven spent the majority of his career with Verizon Communications Inc. Most recently, he served as a Director for Verizon Global Solutions Inc. where he managed all aspects of the sales, service, and support for Verizon’s largest international voice and data customers and strategic partners world-wide. Previously, Steven was the Director of Customer Support for Verizon’s Internet division, and he held various other leadership positions within the company throughout his long career.
Steven studied at the University of Maryland’s University College with a focus on Human Resources and Labor Relations. He completed several leadership development programs including “The Leadership Challenge” offered by The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania, “Succession Planning and Leadership Development” at The University of Maryland, and “Team Based Organizational Management and Development” taught by author and industry expert Mikki Ritvo.
Steven grew up in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Frederick, Maryland and later moved to Washington, D.C. where he spent the majority of his adult life. He and his partner moved to the New York City area for several years and they now reside in St. Pete Beach, Florida where they enjoy managing a small thoroughbred racing stable.
